Occupational Therapy Assistant – Vacancy
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and caring individual to join our team as an Occupational Therapy Key Worker at Tree Tops Children’s Occupational Therapy service.
The post is a part time role working 24 hours per week throughout the year based in our established clinic in Newton Aycliffe.
You will have at least 2 years previous experience of working with children and young people in a health, education or care role. You should work well as part of a team and demonstrate good communication and organisational skills.
You will join a supportive, established team and have an interest in developing skills in working with children who have functional difficulties requiring occupational therapy.
Your role will be to assist the Occupational Therapists during treatment sessions to implement programmes or carry out interventions following set aims. You will also be responsible for preparing/cleaning clinic rooms, preparation of therapy activities and equipment and carrying out administrative tasks in the clinic as part of the whole service needs. This includes completing documentation in clinical records and organising home programmes. As such, you will need to have basic IT skills.
You will be working with children and young people of all ages up to 19 years and with a wide range of special educational needs, focusing on their sensory and motor development. The ability to motivate children and young people of all ages is essential to this role.
This post will be subject to a probationary period of 6 months and a satisfactory DBS. A car driver is also essential with a clean driving license.
Rate of pay £16,243.50 pro rata
