Our assessments vary depending on the child and their presentation. We use standardised assessments and clinical observations to identify the child’s area of strength, difficulties and how these are affecting both their home life and academic performance. We ensure that assessments are adapted accordingly based on the child’s age and ability.

The different assessment packages can be discussed with a Paediatric Occupational Therapist, to select the most appropriate for the child’s needs.

An assessment at Tree Tops may be beneficial if your child has some difficulty in any of the following areas:

• Motor skills.

• Handwriting.

• Independence skills.

• Sensory sensitivities and aversions.

• Attention and concentration.

• Regulation challenges including hyperactivity, emotional outbursts and behavioural challenges.

• Poor sleeping pattern.

• Limited diet or feeding difficulties.

We have developed a Symptom Checklist which outlines a number of behaviours or difficulties a child may be displaying.  It therefore helps as a checklist to determine whether a child would benefit from an assessment.  Having completed this you can call to discuss your concerns and arrange an assessment.

Children can be referred by parents, schools or other organisations for an assessment and costings.
