At Tree Tops Children’s Occupational Therapy, we are passionate about enabling other professionals to understand the nature of a child’s difficulties, particularly in relation to sensory and movement difficulties. We firmly believe educational staff should have this knowledge and know how such problems impact on a child’s learning, social and emotional well-being. Tree Tops have worked with hundreds of schools including mainstream and specialist provisions, as well as nurseries and alternative settings. We currently have partnership agreements with many local schools where our therapists work within the provisions on a regular basis to provide assessments, interventions, support and advice.

Our services include:

• Assessments – including sensory, motor, handwriting and perceptual. A report is provided with recommendations specific to the child, which is then discussed with school staff.
• Interventions – including individual or group programmes to target sensory, regulation, motor or handwriting difficulties. Time is spent with staff to ensure they are confident in delivering interventions, to ensure maximum benefit to the children.
• Teacher Training – we offer a wide range of courses for teaching staff covering topics such as handwriting, motor skills, attention, sensory processing, extreme behaviour and feeding. These can be delivered in house or virtually and can be ran as full day, half days or twilight sessions. All attendees receive certificates to contribute towards that Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
• Environmental Walks – to support schools understand and adapt their environments to meet the needs of their pupils. The therapist will provide advice, support and recommendations.
